Kid's Carnival and First Readers

Updated: Sep 30, 2019

This past weekend farmers' market was busier than normal. Besides my usual vendors, the Farm Bureau hosted their final Farm to Plate chef event. Twin sisters showed the audience how to make veggie pizza and returning chef Michael Morton wowed us with demonstrations of homemade marshmallows, homemade mozzarella, duck confit, and hand ground chorizo. In addition, the library hosted a kid's carnival which really drew in the crowds.

Unfortunately, I only got pictures of the set up before my camera battery laid its head to rest. But imagine this picture filled with children of every age and that is how popular the event turned out to be.

And my book choice for this week was a couple of beginning reader books. I remember when Emily was first reading, and we would get these type books with rhyming words. The two I snagged from my library for this week's review was Pop's Mop Shop and Chap's Cap. These books from childsworld.com ended with a word lists and pages the children would find other words that rhymed with those in the story.

I hope you enjoyed a brief glimpse into my week as well as my foray into the kidlit world. I also hope to see you here again next Monday.

Wishes for a week full of wonder!

Aileen
