Even Better

Updated: Aug 4, 2019

This past weekend we attended Bobby's work pic-nic which happened to take place at Cedar Point and Emily brought her bestie, Katie, along.

We were able to enter the park early which was nice, but as soon as the regular opening hour rolled around the population swelled like alga on a stagnate pond.

Now if truth be told, I'm not a fan of crowds, roller coasters, or endless walking in the summer heat. I do enjoy taking photos, but in my opinion the company pic-nic would be even better if it were always held at the Zoombezi Bay water park because I do love staying cool in the pool.

My weekly read turned out to be about how things can be even better too. But I am happy to say Charlie and Mouse Even Better, written by the esteemed Laurel Snyder and illustrated by Emily Hughes, was perfect just as is.

Charlie and Mouse are getting ready for mom's birthday with the help of dad. And while things don't go exactly as planned and smoke fills the kitchen during dad's attempt at cake baking, the boys discover that sometimes when things don't turn out perfectly, it might just be an opportunity for things to be even better!

I hope you enjoyed a brief glimpse into my week as well as my foray into the kidlit world. I also hope to see you here again next Monday.

Wishes for a week full of wonder! Aileen
