Count and Share Just Like A Bear

It's been a hectic few weeks since I last posted. Emily finished up her last year of home schooling. We went on a picnic at a nearby state park. My niece graduated. I had a garage sale. And now I'm getting ready for the first day of Farmers' Market.

And as I count the number of things I've done and the wonderful memories I've created, I'd like to share one more wonderful item. My local library recently received a new order of kids books. I was especially thrilled because one of them was a book by my writer friend Laura Gehl.

It is a truly funny rhyming book titled, One Big Pair of Underwear. Not only is Laura an adept story teller and perfect rhymer, she's been able to make counting and sharing seem incredibly fun through a series of animals with a shortage of goods. In addition, the illustrator, Tom Lichtenheld, has created adorable illustrations that amp up the fun factor a couple of notches.

So if you want to know how two bears solve the problem of only having one big pair of underwear, how cats take naps without enough mats, and much more, run on down to your library and see if they have a copy. Or if you are so inclined, buy a copy to read over and over. I'm pretty sure your children will thank you!

I hope you've enjoyed a brief glimpse into my week as well as my foray into the kidlit world. I also hope to see you here again next time.

Wishes for a week full of wonder!
